Hello Parents,

FSA FC in conjunction with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Elite Sports Medicine is proud to present, Tournament Management: Preparation and Recovery Strategies.  The seminar will cover active recovery methods, nutritional needs and sleep requirements for athletes during tournaments. The lecture will include talks from Dr. Gelber, Pam Rosow, Dr. Schneeberg, and Adel Lolic.  Sport nutritionist Pam Rosow will discuss nutritional and hydration needs for soccer players.  Dr. Schneeberg will cover the importance of sleep for competitive athletes. Exercise physiologist Adel Lolic, will go over active recovery methods athletes can employ between games and after games to aid in recovery.

Johnathan Gelber, MD, MS is a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed an Orthopedic Surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA and additional sub-specialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He is an author on numerous scientific journal papers and chapters. Dr. Gelber is an orthopedic surgeon at Elite Sports Medicine.

Pam Rosow, MS, RD, CDN has worked as a sports nutritionist at Elite Sports Medicine for the past 7 years and has been a CIAC certified coach at the high school level for over 10 years. She has been a dietitian for over 25 years and worked in the area of sports nutrition in some capacity during that time. She presently teaches at the University of Hartford and manages Power 10 Indoor Rowing Center.

Lynelle M. Schneeberg, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist who recently joined the Division of Sleep Medicine at Connecticut Children’s. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, she is also one of the few clinical psychologists in the country who is board certified in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Schneeberg is currently the Director of the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at Connecticut Children’s Sleep Center.

Adel Lolic, MS, ACSM EP-C has worked as an exercise physiologist and sport performance coach in the Hartford area for the last 7 years. Adel holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and works as a Sports Exercise Technologist for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He has been responsible for supervising the training of many FSA teams under a the new Sports Injury Pervention and  Performance Program.

This team will be discussing the latest information in regards to recovery and fatigue management in the soccer athlete.
